Our subconscious mind stops at our comfort zone before it allows us to accept new unfamiliar information especially when it’s related to change. We’re more willing to embrace the discomfort of old familiar pain connected with old familiar beliefs. We fear and resist change so we can avoid what we think will cause new discomfort and unfamiliar pain associated with it. So, though our minds create the potential for our own craziness, paradoxically, it also has the potential to save us from going over the edge when we are resisting acceptance.
The process starts when we enter the world wholly Self Realized. That’s who we are. We know from the beginning we’re magnificent and our soul is amazingly pure. We all know we are unconditional love. This is our authentic comfort zone.
As we grow we ingest happenings on a daily basis, and it covers up the knowledge of our own perfection so we forget who we authentically are. We program ourselves to believe what our environment dictates and we forget that we love unconditionally. We forget that this is where we are truly comfortable. We think we aren’t good enough and we doubt our gift of Self Worth. Before we even have a chance to acknowledge our own magnificence, it’s fleetingly gone from our conscious minds.
It embarrasses and humiliates us to think we have become the awful person who judges everything and is someone we really don’t want to be. We can’t change because we resist change. And as we further develop our personality, our pain gets deeper and becomes more uncomfortable. We resist accepting who we really are.
In order for others not to see this judgmental person we’re hiding, we become more protective and we fine tune our personality to be more acceptable for others to see and be comfortable with. Our fear is that this is the person we really are because we’ve forgotten the true Being we authentically are. But this is only our act, our performance and our show. And we become really comfortable with that.
We put on a happy face, do well and even become a pillar of the community. The problem is our personality is built on a very shaky foundation based on our own resistance to our authentic Selves. Our subconscious mind has convinced us that we actually are this person and we fool ourselves into believing our act is our authentic Self. And, the more skillful we are at hiding it, the more pretentious and superficial our personality becomes because we’ve forgotten the essentials and substance of who we truly are. And we become comfortable with that.
Until I noticed my resistance to acceptance and change and until I was disgusted and uncomfortable enough with who I had become, that resistance halted my transformational process.
The most rewarding results I produced was my willingness to still the voices in my head, echoing my old beliefs. The best way for me to remember is knowing I am a person of value and worth. I deserve to remember and appreciate my own magnificence just because I say so. It’s a choice to believe in loving myself and it has to be for no reason. All consciousness starts from this knowledge. Where there are reasons, excuses and rationalizations, there is ego.
I practiced silence, breathing, concentration, meditation, visualizations and telling the truth. And I remembered. Ultimately my goal is to Be my “unconditional Self”, to live in the moment and enjoy my freedom from resistance. I learned to let go of my pain and suffering so I can live a more blissfully balanced and peaceful life in joy, harmony, gratitude and freedom. All I have to do is remember who I authenticity am and choose to be present! This is where I live stress free and am most comfortable with who I am.
When I allow myself to love, accept and forgive every part of me and all those I’ve accused and indicted and stop judging and evaluating, I am able to stay balanced and live a magical life.
